WVVAW has taken a position against a number of issues over the years in support of animal welfare. We worked to outlaw the euthanasia of shelter dogs and cats via the gas chamber in WV, helped make intentional animal cruelty a felony, dog fighting a felony and worked to strengthen the animal cruelty laws in WV. We oppose roadside zoos, breed specific bans and greyhound racing in our state. We respond to animal legislation as it arises and take positions accordingly.
